Wild approached Morrama to design a refillable deodorant with plastic-free compostable refills. Over 250 million deodorants are bought in the UK every year, and Wild wanted to bring a more sustainable solution to market.
The outcome of the project was the world's first refillable deodorant with a plastic free refill, made from a bamboo & bagasse material with a natural coating.
Once launched, Wild's innovative refillable deodorant shook the market by proving extremely popular. The brand's exponential growth has led to the launch of multiple product ranges that are now available across continents and in large supermarket chains, all based on a format of a reusable case with plastic-free refills.

My involvement in this project at Morrama came after launch, when Wild began collecting data on quality issues and customer feedback. I was tasked with improving the strength of the case mechanism and reducing failure rates, without compromising on the design and minimising tooling modifications. The improvements made drastically reduced failure rates of the cases and lead to improved quality all-round.
