The brief from Hunu was to design a compact reusable coffee cup that is convenient for users to keep in their pocket or bag, ensuring they would always have it with them when they need it.
The resulting design features a bespoke tri-fold method that collapses the cup into the most compact size on the market, without comprising on its integrity when open. The elasticated heat band insulates the cup when full of hot liquid and provides a distinctive aesthetic.
The problem with many reusable coffee cups on the market is that they are inconvenient to carry around leading to many of us not bothering to bring them with us when we're out and about. The design of the Hunu cup aims to change this by collapsing down to just 2cm in height, it is much more convenient to keep in pocket or bag than existing alternatives.
The range of Hunu cups was expanded to come in sizes of 8oz, 12oz, 16oz and 20oz, which were carefully designed to all function as effectively as the original design. The lids were engineered to seal effectively across all sizes both when the cup is open or closed.
I lead this project from Detailed Design for Manufacture right through to Production, ensuring a high level of quality and function was maintained throughout.
